Persija Jakarta berhasil menjadi juara Piala Presiden musim ini setelah mengalahkan Bali United dengan skor 3-0 pada pertandingan final kemarin di stadion SUGBK. Hal itu tentu saja sangat mengejutkan bagi semua orang. Lantaran suporter Persib Bandung sendiri menerima sanksi dua kali pada fase grup Piala Presiden musim ini. Tapi bagaimana bisa malah mereka dijadikan sebagai suporter terbaik Piala Presiden 2018.
Ternyata itu bukan tanpa alasan. Maruarar Sirait sebagai ketua Steering Committee (SC) Piala Presiden 2018, menjelaskan secara gamblang kepada semuanya bagaimana bisa Bobotoh ditunjuk sebagai suporter terbaik Piala Presiden musim ini.
Ia sadar bahwa tidak semua keputusan akan diterima oleh banyak orang. Termasuk juga pemilihan suporter terbaik ini. Banyak yang tidak setuju dengan itu. Namun pastinya setiap keputusan juga memiliki pertimbangan yang sudah dipikirkan secara matang.
"Tidak semua keputusan itu sempurna, tetapi ada pertimbangannya. Yang protes soal hal ini juga pasti punya pertimbangan," kata Maruarar Sirait seperti yang dilansir oleh Bolasport.com (18/02/18).
Ia menjelaskan bahwa sebenarnya sudah ada kandidat suporter terbaik, yakni suporter Arema FC, Persebaya Surabaya, dan Persib Bandung.
"Sebenarnya ada kandidat lain yakni suporter Arema FC dan Persebaya Surabaya.”
"Alasannya karena Persib adalah tuan rumah pada saat fase grup. Arema suporternya juga banyak sejak awal turnamen," jelasnya.

Sebenarnya ini cukup kontroversial, karena Persib di Piala Presiden ini disanksi Rp 10 juta karena kelakuan buruk suporter usai kekalahan timnya melawan PSMS Medan di fase grup A yang lalu. Lanjut lagi, Persib juga dideda Rp 25 juta juga karena kekalahan masalah yang sama, akibat kekalahan melawan PSM Makassar. Namun suporter Persib Bandung malah menjadi suporter terbaik Piala Presiden 2018.
Kita sebaiknya tidak perlu protes berlebihan dengan keputusan tersebut. Karena pasti setiap keputusan sudah dipikirkan secara matang. Apalagi bobotoh memang selama di Piala Presiden ini menghadirkan koreografi yang cukup apik, dan stadion selalu penuh. Mungkin itulah yang menjadi petimbangan untuk memilih Bobotoh sebagai suporter terbaik Piala Presiden.
