Usia yang tak muda lagi tak menyurutkan semangatnya untuk mendukung tim kebanggaan masyarakat Bali, Bali United.
Ida Bagus Lasem sebelumnya berharap Bali United mengalahkan Persija dan mahakarya yang sudah ia pahat pulang ke Bali.
Sebenarnya Ida diundang oleh manajemen Bali United untuk menyaksikan langsung di SUGBK, namun ia menolak karena alasan kesehatan.
Ia hanya menyaksikan lewat layar televisi di kediamannya di Kemenuh, Sukawati, Gianyar, Sabtu (17/2/2018) malam WITA.
Sejak awal laga ia tampak antusias menyaksikan laga final tersebut. Tak jarang ia menaikkan kacamatanya yang melorot turun.
Saat Bali United gagal memasukkan gol di babak pertama tampak ia menggelengkan kepalanya, menyayangkan kesempatan emas yang tak berbuah gol manis.
Dua gol Persija di babak pertama membuat Ida Bagus Lasem makin serius menonton dan tak beranjak dari tempat duduknya.

Hingga akhirnya, Bali United gagal meraih gelar juara Piala Presiden 2018 dengan kekalahan 0-3 dari Persija.
"Bali United kurang sabar dalam bermain," komentar Ida Bagus.
Hasil tersebut otomatis membungkam harapan Ida untuk melihat karyanya setinggi 60 cm dengan berat 15 kg dan lebar 25 cm pulang ke rumah aslinya, Bali.
"Walaupun kalah, Bali United sudah dapat menunjukan semangatnya, syukurlah Bali United dapat menginjak kakinya sampai ke Gelora Bung Karno," kata Ida.
Ida sedikit mengkritik permainan Bali United yang dinilai kurang bisa mengatur emosi di laga final.
"Menurut pandangan saya, emosi yang harus diperbaiki tim Bali United, jika emosi dicampur ambisi apapun tidak berjalan lancar," jelas Ida.
Meski begitu, harapan Ida tetap sama, suatu saat Bali United bisa membawa pulang karyanya tersebut pulang kerumahnya.
"Harapan saya semoga Bali United tetap semangat untuk pertandingan Piala Presiden selanjutnya," tutup Ida.
